The acrylic paint may interfere with the chemical reaction that cures the epoxy. I know of a man that tried to add color to an epoxy paint for a swimming pool, and had to hire a company to strip the paint and re-do all of his work, because he tried to save money. They had to strip the paint because it wouldn't cure properly. It ended up costing three times as much to have his mistake repaired.
